I Attended a Candidate Event in Salem

The Salem Republican Town Committee sponsored its annual Labor Day event at the Salem-Derry Elks Lodge in Salem this past Monday.  Many local state candidates attended and gave a short speech before the crowd.

State Senate President Chuck Morse (r) and Salem Town Selectman Everett McBride do the cooking honors.

Gubernatorial, US Senator, US Congressman, State Senate, County Attorney, Registrar of Deeds, County Sherriff, and other state candidates came and mingled with the well-wishers.  Among those I saw were US Senate candidates US Senator Kelly Ayotte and Jim Rubens; US Congressman candidates (2nd District) NH State Representatives Jack Flanagan and Eric Estevez and Jim Lawrence;  Gubernatorial candidates Representative Frank Edelblut, Mayor Ted Gatsas and Councilman Chris Sununu; Executive Councilman candidate (District 3) State Senator Prescott; Rockingham County Attorney candidates Patricia Conway (incumbent) and Salem Police Department Prosecutor Jason Grosky.  Rockingham County High Sherriff Michael Hureau and Registrar of Deeds Cathy Stacey also spoke as well as former State Senate President Donna Sytek, candidate for Registrar of Probate.  Other candidates were present, but I did not get a chance to see or speak to them.

Jack Flanagan, Eric Estevez and me with County Attorney Pat Conway:

The event was free and open to the public and served hot dogs, hamburgers and soft drinks.  This was another opportunity for the public to get up close and talk to each candidate.

Senator Ayotte with constituent.  Notice the baseball she’s holding.  Did you see  her “baseball” TV spot?

Chis Sununu (I couldn’t get a good picture of Frank Edelbut, one of the other candidates for governor); Jim Rubens and High Sheriff Hureau (l) with BP owner Chuck Massahos:

Major Ted Gatsas, Derry Representative Potucek (r) and Prosector Jason Grosky (middle) with State Senator Prescott (r):

Kelly is glad to meet the people where ever she goes!
