Good news in the market place! The Federal Energy Regulatory Committee (FERC) has just removed old barriers for energy storage, e.g. batteries, in the power market. This will allow emerging technologies to compete in the marketplace. One area in which I agree is that energy storage is not a power source (i.e. generation). The stored up energy from previous generation (solar, wind, etc.) is released when needed. The market in energy storage is expected to soar in the next few years. This will mainly be for the large energy storage projects, but could apply to the home units as well. This recent ruling will certainly help that. For the entire article, see:
